Peel the potatoes and if there is difference in size in the potatoes, cut the larger potatoes to even sized pieces.

Place the potatoes in a sauce pan and add enough water to cover the potatoes

Add the salt and bring to a boil on medium to high heat. Turn the heat down and simmer for 15 -20 minutes until the potatoes are cooked.

Partly cover the sauce pan with a lid and drain of the water. Leave the potatoes on low heat for 1 - 2 minutes to evaporate the excess water and add a little butter.
