Heat the oven ( 180°C / 356°F)
Crush&peel the garlic and melt the butter. Dip a piece of garlic in the melted butter and evenly rub the inside of the casserole. Chop all the garlic finely and add to the milk.
Mix the cream, milk, melted butter, and salt in bowl. Add a pinch of nutmeg and give it a good mix.
Cut the potatoes into thin slices and arrange them skinny side up in the casserole. Then Pour the sauce evenly over the potatoes.
Place in the oven and bake for 45 minutes, till cooked and golden brown
