Prepare the Bolognese sauce,

While the sauce is gently simmering prepare the béchamel sauce

Heat the oven to 175°C / 347°F

When the sauces are ready you can start building the lasagne.

Spoon a layer of about 1 cm of Bolognese sauce into the casserole

Drizzle some béchamel sauce evenly spread over the layer of sauce (save about 1/3 of the sauce for the top layer)

Place the lasagne leaves to form a closed layer, break to size if necessary

Repeat the layers 2 to 3 times

The top layer finishes with the bolognese sauce, a large helping of the béchamel sauce evenly spread (no lasagne leaves)

Finally grate the Parmesan cheese over the top layer

Bake in the oven for 40 to 50 minutes until the pasta is cooked and colour golden brown

Tips

Add some blanched spinach or spicy chorizo in between the layers

Serve the lasagne with salad
